Runner-up Finish in Southern Nationals Opener at Wythe Raceway

Vic Hill was one of 31 Super Late Models signed in at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Virginia) on Saturday night kicking off the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series. Following the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group, Hill streaked to an 8-lap heat race victory positioning him 4th on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into a podium spot, Vic improved two positions in the 53-lapper to place 2nd behind Dale McDowell with Eric Wells, Ross Bailes, and Casey Roberts completing the Top-5 finishers.
