Vic Hill climbs to 11th in Tar Heel 53 at Tri-County Racetrack

The Castrol FloRacing Night in America miniseries drew Vic Hill and 33 competitors to Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.) on Thursday for the 18th annual FK Rod Ends Tarheel 53.

With a seventh-place outing in his heat relegating him into a B-Main, Hill stormed into the $23,023-to-win A-Main with a fifth-to-second run. Starting the feature in 19th, Vic suffered a blown right-rear tire on lap 35 after wheeling his way all the way up to sixth. Nearly cracking the top-10 again, Hill salvaged an 11th-place finish in the remaining distance of the 53-lapper.
